Utilization of Rooftop Solar Units to Generate Electricity and Hydrogen: A Technoeconomic Analysis

This study is aimed at scrutinizing the domestic solar energy potential for electricity and hydrogen production. Under first scenario, it sought to evaluate generation household purposes using RSUs (rooftop units). Then, under second production analyzed purpose of meeting a vehicle demand. For this, one aptest cities, Yazd, located in center Iran investigated. Furthermore, real-world electric load needed by an usual Yazd deemed as demand electricity. To analyze two scenarios, system consisting 8.2 kW RSU power generation, battery storage, 1 electrolyzer yield proposed. Also, acquire broader vision, predictions are made next 10, 20, 30, 40 years. The results regarding scenario implied that COE (Cost Electricity) would be, respectively, 0.067, 0.145, 0.136, 0.127 $/kWh. In addition supplying required house, 2,687 $/yr could be earned selling excess generated, 5,759 kg CO2 avoided year. findings showed LCOH (levelized cost hydrogen) equate 3.62, 6.53, 6.34, 5.93 $/kg, aforementioned project lifetimes. 2,464 revenue after surplus electricity, 7,820 saved, annually.
